It started with Miss E, who had a nasty cough for about a week. I thought we dodged a bullet when Miss M didn't get the cough, until she woke up from a Sunday afternoon nap with a 101 fever that developed into Scarlet Fever. Ugh.
Another week down and I woke up this morning feeling like I'd been hit by a truck. My first thought: I do not have time for this. Can you relate?
Thank the Lord it's still the weekend. As the parent that works from home, I am the one that takes the girls to school every morning. If today had been a school day, some kiddos would have been VERY late, if I had been able to get them there at all! I am so appreciative of my husband for making me tea, bringing me an extra blanket, wiping the house down with Lysol, and taking care of the girls while I slept. All day.
Besides all of the typical mom stuff, as the parent that spends the most time going to doctors appointments, administering meds, and spending time at the hospital, it's easy to forget how to be taken care of. After a day of being cared for, I am feeling better. I'm certainly not 100% but I feel less like I was hit by a truck and more like there's a light at the end of this germ-infested tunnel.
