This blog comes after years of friends and colleagues saying that I should write down my experiences to help encourage other parents. I want to show people that there is a light at the end of the tunnel, but I'm also very real and don't sugar-coat things.
Parenting a child with a chronic illness is hard. It just is. The good news is it gets easier; you create your own normal. Finding humor in your circumstances will help keep you sane!
The blog is so named because so many times, especially in the beginning of our journey, it felt like I was walking under water. Not that I couldn't move or couldn't go on, but like my body was being held back by an immeasurable force while life all around me continued to go on at light speed. When your baby is sick...really sick...nothing else matters and sometimes just going through the motions of life is exhausting.
I have publicly shared my daughter's story many times, for various reasons. This is where I will share my story, from a mother's point of view. From time to time I will bring along my husband, JC, and our girls, Miss E and Miss M, because chronic illness is very much a family affair! I hope you will join us.
